The cemetery is fairly remote and can be reached only from the east side of the Portage waterway. It has an interesting old section dating from the sandstone quarry and farming days and a newer section with plots available. Forest Hill Cemetery
(located in Portage Township, next to MTU's SDC)
Forest Hill Cemetery In Portage Township allows green burial for existing lot owners as of a certain date (date not clear), and has declared that an area of the cemetery will be devoted to green burial. It is uncertain where that area really is, but most recently it is said to be a row of lots on a wooded edge of the cemetery, depicted here.
Lots are technically for sale, but as of 2023 the cemetery is experiencing "issues" and officials have been recommending Chassell for green burial instead.
